September!

by Aaron on Sep.05, 2008, under Entertainment, Television

Preparing my DSL’s bandwidth rape next week for upcoming American TV shows/premieres I’m going to watch. How ’bout you guys, what’re you going to watch this season? (I’m posting this ‘coz I’m sick and have nothing else to do, can’t sleep either.)

Heroes Season 3 - 3 hour premiere? Come on.

90210. Welcome to the Upper West Side.

Dexter Season 3. Lackluster Season 2 for me but I love the personal dilemma Dexter Morgan has so I’m keeping this on my watchlist.

Entourage Season 5. Eric Murphy is my idol. Nuff said.

Pushing Daisies Season 2. Can somebody please kill Chuck already? Now?

Smallville Finale Season Papa Justin Hartley Season. Nakakadurog ng pagkalalake ang pagmemeron ni Green Arrow!

American Idol 8. But of course.

How I Met Your Mother 4. Suit up!

And of course.

I gots meself a new iPod.

by Aaron on Aug.10, 2008, under Technology

…after 5 years from my first 4th gen 20gb iPod. I’m pretty much fucked up in getting Globe’s P42,000.00 iPhone so I’m getting the next best thing (and no, the 32GB iTouch is NOT the next best thing, in my book at least.)

I’m naming my iPod ‘iPod’.

Am I the only one who doesn’t have name associations for gadgets and items of value? I named my Macbook ‘Macbook’, I named the two PC’s I maintain at home ‘PC1′ and ‘PC2′, I name my cellphone ‘Cellphone’, I name my DS ‘DS’, I name my camera ‘Digital Rebel’ and so on.

My friends are weirded out at how I name my stuff.

(this is supposed to be an LJ-cut but there’s no LJ-cut here)
But yeah, I got the  iPod classic 80gb at a real steal, like 4000 pesos from the SRP. Was contemplating if I should get the silver one since I have plans to upgrade to a Macbook pro once my Macbook dies pero ‘di bagay when I go out so…

It’s a little hard to say what’s going on.

by Aaron on Jul.13, 2008, under Entertainment

Vienna Teng’s cover of Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’ is on repeat on my iTunes right now. Also, I’ve been reading a good book on pop culture deconstruction - Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klostermann.

What is it with Chucks, and why do people with the name ‘Chuck’ chuck out really good books?

OT: Yeaaaah Palahniuk’s ‘choke’ is coming soon!

For an author who hates Coldplay and dedicated roughly 3 pages of his anti-Chris Martin angst, the rest of the book’s actually really good. That’s coming from a book snob like me who only reads 1. Catcher in the Rye-type books and 2. Chuck Palahniuk and probably a bit of 3. Paulo Coelho or Guy Kawasaki just for the sake of trying to strike up a ‘decent’ conversation with you, my dearest Atenean friends. hahaha.

The book’s presented in a full-length EP form separated into ’songs’ / ’sections’ which reminds me of Pulp Fiction or Amores Perros (Life’s a Bitch), for reasons unknown. The album opens with ‘This is Emo’, with the author bitching on John Cusack and Coldplay. I really really like Coldplay but how Klosterman wrote it was just plain funny. haha.

Favorite sections:
11. Being Zack Morris: An analysis of Saved by the Bell and how “important things are inevitable cliché.”

12. Sulking with Lisa Loeb on the Ice Planet Hoth: Why Star Wars is so overrated, and how it has come to represent basic morality.
