Wagyu Beef Dinner at Malcolm’s
by Aaron on Jul.31, 2008, under Entertainment, Food, Going Out
Sa mga ininvite namin mag-Wagyu/Kobe beef at hindi pumunta: malas niyo, inubos ko na ang gift cheques ko haha. My Dad gave me gift cheques to Malcolm’s and was on the verge of expiry so I ended up living the Bachelor’s life with Jar at Malcolm’s (astig yung place, parang renovated Bachelor’s pad yung interiors). Kung wala akong gift cheque hindi ko maaafford mag Wagyu beef. Bow I get why it’s so fracking expensive.
We had wine, wagyu sandwich, wagyu salisbury, salmon pasta, chowder and wagyu wagyu wagyu damn. We went afterwards to Sir Ali and Brian Tenorio’s TENORIO/FIGURA/DOMINGO Manila shoe launch. More on that on the next post.
I’m on a event-invite spree recently, which is quite tough balancing together with work but it’s all good! One of my projects are coming out soon and I’m pretty much excited about the comments of the general audience. ![]()

It’s a little hard to say what’s going on.

Vienna Teng’s cover of Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’ is on repeat on my iTunes right now. Also, I’ve been reading a good book on pop culture deconstruction - Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klostermann.

What is it with Chucks, and why do people with the name ‘Chuck’ chuck out really good books?
OT: Yeaaaah Palahniuk’s ‘choke’ is coming soon!
For an author who hates Coldplay and dedicated roughly 3 pages of his anti-Chris Martin angst, the rest of the book’s actually really good. That’s coming from a book snob like me who only reads 1. Catcher in the Rye-type books and 2. Chuck Palahniuk and probably a bit of 3. Paulo Coelho or Guy Kawasaki just for the sake of trying to strike up a ‘decent’ conversation with you, my dearest Atenean friends. hahaha.
The book’s presented in a full-length EP form separated into ’songs’ / ’sections’ which reminds me of Pulp Fiction or Amores Perros (Life’s a Bitch), for reasons unknown. The album opens with ‘This is Emo’, with the author bitching on John Cusack and Coldplay. I really really like Coldplay but how Klosterman wrote it was just plain funny. haha.
Favorite sections:
11. Being Zack Morris: An analysis of Saved by the Bell and how “important things are inevitable cliché.”
12. Sulking with Lisa Loeb on the Ice Planet Hoth: Why Star Wars is so overrated, and how it has come to represent basic morality.
Because I turned into a total consumerist…

Haha, this definitely has to be in my anti-boredom device list.
